Celtic have not had the best starts to the year this season, having already had a number of setbacks along the way.
Brendan Rodgers’ side have struggled to get going in a number of their matches and a number of their player’s performances have been considered to be below par.
John Hartson is one that has been rather vocal about the displays some of his former club have put in recently and has called on one man to make more of an impact.
“I keep hearing that Odsonne Edouard is a work in progress but I also think we need to see a little bit more from him too. I have no doubt that he has the raw talent to go and be a top player and at 20, he is still learning the ropes,” he wrote.
“But he has had a relatively quiet start to the season. There will be more to come from him and it is difficult when you are playing with a pretty big pricetag around your neck but I’d like to see Edouard in and about it a bit more over these next few months.”
A lot will be expected of Edouard this season following his exploits for the Scottish Premiership champions last year and his big-money move.
The 20-year-old joined Celtic from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer on a permanent deal worth a club-record fee, after a successful loan spell last season.
However, it should only be a matter of time before the young striker starts firing and helping lift Rodgers’ side back to the summit of the league.
