Kieran Tierney could be set to miss Rangers trip

Celtic will meet Rangers in the final game of the Scottish Premiership campaign before the winter break kicks in.

The Bhoys currently have a 3-point gap between themselves and the Light Blues and Brendan Rodgers will want to extend that to six.

However, the Hoops could be without one of their key players for the short trip to Ibrox on Saturday afternoon.

Rodgers has revealed to the Daily Record that Kieran Tierney will be a doubt for the game as he continues to struggle with the hip injury that has made him miss the last four matches.

“He is clearly a question mark. In the next 48 hours we will see,” he said.

“If not it’s unfortunate but we have other guys to come into the squad and that’s always an opportunity”.

The Verdict:

The news about Tierney will be concerning and could come as a huge blow to Celtic and Rodgers ahead of Saturday’s clash with their Old Firm rivals.

The left-back has been outstanding for the Bhoys when he has been available and is an integral member of the side.

With his potential absence, either Emilio Izaguirre or Jonny Hayes will likely be set to deputise for him.
