Celtic managed to get the better of Kilmarnock in a closely-fought encounter yesterday as Scott Brown grabbed the winner in the dying embers at Rugby Park.
The Hoops now find themselves eight points ahead at the top of the Scottish Premiership table, so they’ll fancy themselves to secure the title once again this season.
And, supporters recently received a big boost on the injury front, as according to Brendan Rodgers in an interview with Radio Scotland (via Football Fancast), Kieran Tierney is set to return to face Motherwell.
Indeed, the Scotland international has been out injured since suffering a knock to the hip in during Celtic’s Europa League match against RB Leipzig.
But, it appears as if he’ll return in the not so distant future as Rodgers had this to say:
“I think that Motherwell is the game that we are targeting Kieran for.”
Jonny Hayes had to fill in at left-back yesterday and Emilio Izaguirre hasn’t always looked comfortable this season, so it comes as a big boost that Celtic look like welcoming him back this Sunday.
Kieran Tierney is arguably the best left-back in Scotland as he’s been influential in recent years, with the potential to develop into one of Europe’s best full-backs.
Indeed, there’s still a long way to go in the race for the Scottish Premiership title and in other competitions, so having the youngster back will be huge.
