Celtic will be preparing to return to Scottish Premiership action on Saturday when they meet Hibernian at Celtic Park.
However, Brendan Rodgers’ side may have been dealt an untimely injury blow for the match against the second-placed team.
It is unclear at this moment on whether the 28-year-old will be available for the Bhoys to play against his former club.
Griffiths has struggled with injuries recently and there has been some controversy surrounding the striker recently, as he dropped out of the Scotland national squad.
It was understood that the attacker had wanted to work on rebuilding his fitness, although others had criticised him and accused him of turning his back on his country.
Griffiths’ absence could be an untimely blow for Celtic as they prepare to face Hibernian.
Although it is unclear as to why he was absent, it would not be wrong to suggest that he has suffered a setback in his aims to get fitter and may have caused himself a slight problem and fans will be concerned it could be serious.
It remains to be seen if he will be available, however, the Hoops do have Odsonne Edouard, who appears to have become their main attacking option this season.
