Mikael Lustig may have dropped the biggest hint on his future at Celtic as speculation mounts back in his homeland.
The Sweden international current contract is believed to be expiring in the summer, however, that does not appear to be of concern to him.
The defender, who has been at Parkhead since 2012, has revealed that he expects to be at the club next season.
Speaking to Expressen, he said: “You can wonder as much as you want, but I have a contract with Celtic and I think I’ll play there next year too.”
Despite being a mainstay in Brendan Rodgers’ side so far, it is believed the Hoops have tried to sign a new right-back recently.
Lustig has been heavily criticised recently for his form as well, having been at fault for a number of goals the Scottish Premiership champions have conceded.
Although nothing appears to be set in stone at the moment, it appears as though Lustig is happy to remain at Celtic.
Despite the 31-year-old believing his future is still at Celtic Park, it remains to be seen if the Bhoys decide to enter the transfer market in January for a replacement.
The Swede has come in for criticism with his performances this season and should a new player arrive, it will be interesting to see what the future does indeed hold for Lustig.
