Neil Lennon optimistic Tom Rogic and Olivier Ntcham will be ready for Old Firm clash

There is not a lot more that Celtic fans love than a win against their Old Firm rivals Rangers, something they have certainly come to enjoy over the years. The Hoops have dominated the meetings between the two sides in terms of results as they continue to in their quest to go for an unprecedented 10 Scottish Premiership titles in a row.

And, it would appear that Neil Lennon has some encouraging news ahead of his first Old Firm meeting in his second spell as Bhoys boss.

What’s the News?

The Northern Irishman has revealed that he is optimistic that both Tom Rogic and Olivier Ntcham will be available for the game against Rangers.

Speaking to the Scotsman, he said: “I’m optimistic that he’ll be able to play against Rangers – and the same applies to Olivier Ntcham as well.”

Rogic has been unavailable since the beginning of February following a knee injury he picked up during Australia’s Asia Cup campaign and has not played for the club since December.

Ntcham has been struggling with a knee problem as well and made his last appearance in the festive Old Firm derby game back at the end of December.

The Verdict:

The news that both Ntcham and Rogic could be available for the game against Rangers will come as a huge boost to Celtic and their chances of overcoming their Old Firm rivals once again.

Both men possess plenty of skill and creativity, which at times, has been lacking for the Hoops over the past couple of months and the pair have enjoyed previous outings against the Light Blues.

Ntcham scored the only goal of the game the last time the two sides met at Celtic Park earlier in the season, whilst Rogic has an extremely good record when coming up against their Glasgow neighbours.

Their possible returns will not only be a boost for the upcoming derby either, as they will be able to help Celtic keep their Treble Treble hopes alive and have plenty of experience of winning silverware in Scotland.

A win for the Hoops would have to make them almost guaranteed Scottish Premiership winners, as it would likely extend the points gap between them and second place fairly considerably, as they already hold an eight-point lead.

Celtic fans, are you as optimistic as Lennon is about Rogic and Ntcham returning for the Old Firm derby? Or are you confident the club can cope without them? Join in with the discussion below by sharing your thoughts with us.
