Odsonne Edouard gives Celtic timely boost

Celtic have received a timely boost ahead of their tricky home fixture with FK Suduva on Thursday afternoon.

Brendan Rodgers’ side were held to a 1-1 draw in their Europa League qualifier last week and the manager will be looking for his team to ensure they progress to the group stages of the competition.

And, according to the club’s official website, the Northern Irishman will have been handed a timely injury boost ahead of the clash with their Lithuanian opponents.

Odsonne Edouard is set to make a return to the team after he missed the last four games on the sidelines and Rodgers has admitted that it is great to have him back available.

“He’s back training and looking very good,” he told the club’s official website.

“He’s been a miss for us as he’s a talent and it’s great to have him back.”

Moussa Dembele is thought to be a doubt for the Bhoys on Thursday as talks about his future continue, with the striker thought to be the subject of interest from France.

The Verdict:

Celtic will be looking to use home advantage when they meet Suduva at Celtic Park to progress to the next round.

Rodgers will be delighted to have Edouard back available for the clash, although it remains to be seen if he features for the Hoops on the night.

However, with Dembele’s future unclear, the former Paris Saint-Germain man could be in line to make his return and could be key to their chances of making the Europa League group stage.
