Celtic fans must be in dreamland at this moment in time as their side continue to march towards yet another treble after booking a place in the final of the Scottish Cup.
The Hoops may be dominating proceedings in Scotland but the Champions League has been a big issue for the Glasgow club, as they just can’t seem to cope with the quality.
However, it looks as if the Hoops are looking at possible additions ahead of the summer transfer window, as according to TEAMtalk, Celtic are interested in signing Wigan Athletic’s Nick Powell.
Powell will depart on a free this summer after rejecting a new deal at the DW Stadium, so here are the potential consequences of Celtic snapping him up…
TOM ROGIC WORRIED
Tom Rogic’s season has been very stop and start due to his injury troubles but he’s now starting to enjoy regular minutes in the side at Parkhead, and he even grabbed Celtic’s third against Aberdeen recently.
The Australian would find it hard to feature ahead of Ryan Christie if he was fit and Powell’s potential arrival certainly wouldn’t help as it could push him down to third in the pecking order, which would be a big worry for him as Powell and Christie could prove impossible to budge.
CELTIC FINALLY SECURE TARGET
The Sun (via Birmingham Live) reported back in March 2018 that Celtic were interested in signing Nick Powell, and it comes as no surprise that they’re interested in him once again as he’s been impressive this season.
Celtic fans would love to see their side finally land a quality player like Powell, who they appear to have been chasing for over a year.
Nick Powell is the type of player who could take Celtic’s midfield to another level as he has everything you could want in a playmaker, with a deadly finishing ability and the ability to create in the final third.
