Rangers fans on Twitter were livid at their captain yesterday

The stinging defeat at Parkhead yesterday is one that will take the Gers a while to get over. It was a winnable game given Celtic’s lack of quality, and whilst Alfredo Morelos is the main culprit for the loss considering his cheap red card, the Bluenoses have been gunning for James Tavernier too after his horrendous ball gifted the Hoops possession for their winner.
86' GOAL: Forrest scores for Celtic. 2-1

When James Tavernier found himself with the ball at his feet and under very little pressure down the right all he had to do was lay the ball back to the waiting Connor Goldson and then get going again down the right flank as he had been doing all game. The Gers were chasing a winner and looked good in the second-half despite Celtic’s numerical advantage, yet Tavernier couldn’t complete the ten-yard pass.
Instead, he knocked the ball backwards just for Callum McGregor to run onto the ball and play a first-time pass into Odsonne Edouard who would tee up James Forrest for the winning goal. It couldn’t have been a worse blunder as far as the Gers are concerned, and despite all of their hard graft and effort, one moment of stupidity from Tavernier saw it all come crashing down.

Once again the Captain gives away a goal for us. I cannot understand why this guy is rated as one of our best players???

Needlessly giving the ball away like that especially when a man short. Criminal.

Tavernier costs this team far too much.

Season is over. Get new faces in new captain and striker needed.

How can you allow a player who makes casual idiot mistakes like that, away from home to our biggest rivals, be the captain of Rangers…..
NOT GOOD ENOUGH!

The Gers cannot get over how much of a liability Tavernier can be and will now just be dying for their next game so they can put yesterday behind them.
