Rangers fans take to Twitter to laud sublime Morelos after winner at the death

Alfredo Morelos continues to be the man who Rangers look to in a crisis. The Colombian striker always seems to deliver for Steven Gerrard’s side, and after he grabbed 18 goals last season, he’s already topped that figure by grabbing 19 this campaign, and it’s not even Christmas yet.

Morelos went into the Gers clash at McDiarmid Park against St Johnstone on 17 goals and needed to bag just once to match his tally from the whole of last season. However, El Buffalo went one better than that as he grabbed a crucial double, scoring both a much-needed equaliser and a dramatic late winner against St Johnstone to fire them within one point of Celtic at the top.

It was an away day to remember for both Morelos and the fans, and the supporters will be keen to see Morelos continue his sublime goalscoring form into the new year, however, they’ll be desperate for him to bag a couple against Celtic next weekend. If the Gers can get one over their Old Firm rivals then they’d be throwing a real curveball in the title race, and if anyone can help do that then it’s young Alfredo Morelos.

The Gers simply couldn’t get enough of Morelos yesterday, and will be desperately hoping he saved some goals for both Hibs and the Hoops in the week.
