Rangers were dealt a big blow in their pursuit of the Scottish league title as Steven Gerrard’s men played out a 2-2 draw away at St. Johnstone.
The visitors started off slowly and went into the half-time break 1-0 down thanks to an early goal, but a change by Gerrard made a big impact in the second period. Florian Kamberi came on at the break and took just five minutes to find the back of the net – his first strike in a Rangers shirt.
The January loan signing is still yet to make his first start for the club but he will have given his manager food for thought after an excellent display, one which got some fans calling for him to be in the starting line-up from now on. He also assisted Joe Aribo to put the Gers in front with 20 minutes remaining, and after Stevie May equalised for the hosts Kamberi thought he produced a last-minute winner, but his strike was ruled out for a handball.
Despite the disappointing result, the 24-year-old’s performance was a positive one, and he will be determined to add to his nine goals this season as Rangers still attempt to compete in multiple competitions this term.
Here is some of the reaction from supporters to his display.
