It had been on the cards for the past week or so, but now Glasgow Rangers have finally confirmed the signing of Ianis Hagi.
After appearing in 12 matches since joining on loan from Genk in January, the Gers decided to purchase the 21-year-old on a permanent basis. The rumoured fee for his signature is £3m which, if true, is a reduction on the €5m (£4.5m) purchase option the Ibrox outfit had when they took the 21-year-old for a short-term period.

With 10 caps for Romania, two Golden Boy nominations and a U21 European Championship semi-final appearance last summer, the youngster has plenty of promise, and Steven Gerrard will be hoping that he can help the Gers to a first piece of silverware since the former Liverpool boss took over as manager.

The Gers fans have been reacting to the signature and it is fair to say they are absolutely delighted with the news, understandably so given everything mentioned above, as well as some of his displays in a blue shirt so far – particularly against Braga when he netted a brace (BBC Sport). Indeed, one fan even described the news as “tremendous”.
