Rangers failed to keep the pressure on the league leaders in the title race as they could only take a point away from their visit to St. Johnstone.
They got off to a terrible start as Callum Hendry scored for the home side after eight minutes, and despite turning things around to be leading with ten minutes remaining, they could not prevent a St. Johnstone equaliser. Steven Gerrard will no doubt be frustrated with his team’s lapses in concentration at the back, and fans directed much of their anger at one man, Nikola Katic.
There was significant criticism of the Croatia international’s performance, with suggestions being made that he should have done better to prevent both of the goals conceded. A poor showing in the air from the 23-year-old allowed Stevie May to grab the equaliser, and for many supporters that was simply unacceptable from Katic.
Here are some of the things that have been said in reaction to his display, and it is fair to say he has a lot to do to turn fans’ opinions around again.
