Plenty of Rangers fans were highly critical of centre-back Connor Goldson for his performance in midweek as Steven Gerrard’s side conceded ground in the Premiership title race.

However, the home side restored parity by the 48th minute at Pittodrie, with Jon Gallagher and Andrew Considine on target, and the ‘Gers ended up dropping two points, the margin by which they now trail league leaders Celtic after their last-gasp win over Hamilton.
Goldson, who played the full 90 minutes to maintain his ever-present status in the Premiership after 15 games of the season, was booked in the closing stages and came in for unforgiving reviews from reporters as well as Rangers fans.
James Black of Rangers News said that the 26-year-old was “posted missing as Gallagher grabbed a goal back for Aberdeen and not much better at the second”, while Ayush Chaurasia of The 4th Official gave him a lowly rating of three, writing that he “was all over the place defensively for both the goals” scored by the Dons.
These Rangers fans on Twitter tore into Goldson after his performance at Pittodrie:

Absolutely shocking. Goldson needs to play the whistle and not stand and complain in the box, school boy football.

I dunno why but goldson seems to be the golden boy for gerrard he’s had one maybe two good games this season. He makes more mistakes than anyone yet seems to be the first name on the team sheet. It’s an absolute joke.
