Celtic managed to secure their first piece of silverware in the current campaign yesterday as they put in a convincing display in the Scottish League Cup final against Aberdeen.
The Hoops put themselves in a promising position to qualify for the knockout stages of the Europa League last week as they secured a 1-0 win over Rosenborg.
However, it appears as if the Glasgow club have turned their attention to the January transfer window, as according to Sun Sport, Brendan Rodgers plans to hold talks with a January transfer target today.
Rodgers has revealed he plans to hold signing talks with a January target today.
Sadly, the player is unknown at this moment in time but it’s good to see the Celtic boss making moves already.
Celtic will no doubt be desperate to celebrate yesterday’s Scottish League Cup success, but Rodgers has stated that celebrations must be put on hold.
“So I know that after the game on Sunday, I’ll be flying out to speak to a player on Monday, so there won’t be any big celebration whatever it is, or not, whatever way it is.
“We have to get to work the next day.”
Celtic supporters will be delighted that Rodgers is already set to hold talks with a potential January signing, with a successful January helping their push for silverware.
The Hoops are currently in a promising position to secure yet another treble, but they could do with bringing in a number of players to provide cover in particular areas.
With Dedryck Boyata leaning towards an inevitable exit, perhaps Rodgers is set to meet a central defender.
