Scott Brown attracting interest from Australia

Celtic haven’t been able to ensure consistency in the current campaign as Brendan Rodgers appears to be losing his magic tough in Scotland.

The Hoops will still have their eyes set on a third successive treble, despite dropping off the pace at times in Europe and the Scottish Premiership. Although, it appears as if one of the club’s stars is attracting interest, as according to the Daily Mail, Western Melbourne are preparing an ambitious bid for Scott Brown.

Australian A-League aspirants Western Melbourne are preparing an ambitious bid to lure Celtic captain Scott Brown Down Under.

Western Melbourne are prepared to offer former Scotland captain Brown a deal to become their marquee signing if their application to start playing league games in October 2019 is accepted.

Although, out of contract at Parkhead next summer, the 33-year-old is currently in talks with chief executive Peter Lawwell over an extension to his current deal.

Scott Brown has been an iconic figure at Celtic throughout his career in Scotland, so they’d love nothing more than to keep him at the club until the end of his career, with a view to a coaching role.

The midfielder is coming towards the end of his football career, but it’s his fight and spirit in the middle of midfield that really takes Celtic to the next level in matches.
