Celtic are looking to tie down one of their legendary figures at the club to a new deal.
The 33-year-old current deal is believed to expire at the end of the current season, however, it looks as though his 11-year association with the Celtic Park outfit is not going to be ending anytime soon.
The midfielder, who is valued at £3.6million by Transfermarkt, has stated that he has opened talks over a new contract and believes everything could be sorted out within the next few weeks.
“Me and the club we are speaking,” he told STV.
“There is no problem between myself and the club. They know I’m going to sign. There is no issues whatsoever.
“It’s just a matter of time for us to get it done. We first started talking just before the international break. It will be done in next couple of weeks hopefully.”
Celtic will be delighted to tie their captain down to a new deal, as Brown has become a hugely influential and popular figure with the fans at Parkhead.
Since joining the Hoops from Hibernian in 2007, he has helped the club win 16 major trophies, including eight league titles.
Brendan Rodgers will be pleased to keep the 33-year-old as he has become one of the best players the club has ever had and would be a difficult player to replace in the future.
