Celtic are starting to look to the future when it comes down to Scott Brown’s time at Parkhead.
And, it appears that it is far from up, as it is believed the Hoops want to keep him at the club once his playing days are over.
Despite admitting that he wants to continue playing for as long as possible, he has stated that it would be an honour to help out behind the scenes as well.
“Myself, the gaffer and Peter Lawwell have been chatting and it seems to have gone well. I am just concentrating on playing right now,” he told the Scottish Sun.
“I’ll go and do my coaching badges in the summer, but I’ll see how long my legs last before I think about moving upstairs.
“It’s a great honour to have been playing at Celtic for so long and for them to be helping me out with a coaching role, whether it’s Under-16s or whatever.”
Brown is a hugely popular and influential figure at Celtic and it would make a lot of sense to keep him involved with the club once he does hang up his playing boots.
Although, fans will be hoping that will still be a few years from now, as he is 33-years-old and could still look to help them on the pitch.
Celtic will return to action against Hibernian on Saturday, in a game that the Bhoys will feel they need to win if they are to keep within distance of the Scottish Premiership title.
