It’s surely only a matter of time until Celtic are crowned Scottish Premiership champions for the eighth time in a row. Their win against Old Firm rivals Rangers will have been the icing on the cake as Neil Lennon’s side continued to show their dominance.
Although it is not advisable to look too far ahead to the future, the Bhoys may well find themselves in an excellent position to be able to do so when it comes down to recruitment for next season. And, it appears they may have been handed a boost in trying to keep one of their players at the club beyond the end of the current campaign.
What’s the News?
According to a report by The Daily Record, Timothy Weah has admitted that it is a possibility that he could agree to another loan spell with the Scottish Premiership outfit.
The United States of America international has revealed that he is loving his time in Glasgow and could look to extend his stay if the opportunity presented itself.
“I feel like it’s a possibility,” he said. “It’s something me and my family have to go over at the end of the season. I am loving it here so far so we just have to see what happens. I’m really positive about the situation, happy to be at the club and making the most of these opportunities.”
Weah joined Celtic from Paris Saint-Germain in the January transfer window and has certainly gone on to make an impression during his short spell with the Scottish outfit already. The 19-year-old has come up with a number of significant contributions, including match-winning performances.
The teenager has been a real threat to a number of defences and provides Neil Lennon’s side with some much-needed pace and creativity on the flanks and has the ability to change the game when he comes onto the pitch as a substitute.
The American is far from the finished article, however, he has an incredibly bright future in the game and his time at Celtic could help shape his development and help turn him into the player that many expect him to become.
However, whether PSG allow him to remain at the club beyond the end of the season remains to be seen, although it would not be surprising if they did allow for it to happen, as they have a number of players already in their squad competing for places in the team.
