It might only be a formality as the Scottish Premiership is already in Celtic’s possession, but the Old Firm derby always has the potential to be a stunner of an occasion. While there’s much debate on whether Rangers will give their rivals the guard of honour, one thing guaranteed is that the encounter will be a feisty one.
A highly competitive game with both sides going at it will be displayed on Sunday. In such a heated clash, only the cleverest of heads prevail. Tom Rogic and Scott Arfield are the creative hubs for both sides with a deft hunger for goals. They’ll be playing a key role for forming chances and in helping their side to try and dominate.
Despite missing the last few months due to injury, Rogic returned to form with a sleek assist against Aberdeen. The Australian thrives playing against Rangers, having scored twice in two derbies last season.
Rogic’s beautiful vision for finding space in attack, flair on the ball and striking ability makes him a threat that needs to be dealt with by Steven Gerrard’s side. Having missed out on the party in recent weeks, he’ll aim to win back the fans’ admiration by dictating the tempo for Celtic and whirling his magic to bamboozle the Gers.

The 30-year-old’s enjoyed himself under Gerrard this season, perfectly making the transition from the Premier League to the Scottish Premiership. Arfield’s stunning form has seen him score 10 league goals, but he is yet to open his account against Celtic.
Maybe fourth time’s the charm! Arfield will also aim to spice up the game with his aggression, putting in strong tackles to stop the opposition. He’ll make the most out of his electric counter-attacking ability, creating chances for Jermain Defoe and co. The The former Burnley man’s long-range striking ability is very well known and he’ll want to showcase his goalscoring prowess with an ambitious stunner to win his side the bragging rights.

Despite Arfield’s powerful performances this season, Rogic’s the man for derbies. He just loves tormenting Rangers; his performance-level just seems to peak against them. An indication that the Australian’s coming up with something special to topple Arfield and co on Sunday? You cannot rule it out.
