It’s been a disappointing season for the Hammers in the Transfer Tavern, and our landlord knows Slaven Bilic has a lot of work to do in the Summer to improve things at the London Stadium.
Bilic would have been expecting great things from his side following such a positive first season in charge in East London, but it hasn’t worked out that way and the Croatian boss seems to be back where he started when he took up the job two years ago.
The West Ham fans in the Tavern agree and what they really want from their side is a team that they can identify with and really get behind.
There have been moans and groans about the move to the London Stadium but many feel these worries will be eradicated once their side kicks into gear.
Our landlord has thought long and hard about what his Iron punters have had to say and he has come up with an outrageous solution of Bilic raiding his neighbours, Tottenham Hotspur, for some youth.
Whilst this seems bizarre, our landlord has reasoned that Spurs’ success in the Premier League will mean there is less of a chance for some talented youth who would fit right in at West Ham.
He has been studying these players hard and identified TWO players he feels can really make the grade for the Hammers.
Let’s take a look at them here…
Josh Onomah
This season was meant to produce big things for Onomah but Mauricio Pochettino has failed to deliver his promise of more game time for the young Nigerian, which has resulted in a pause in his development.
Whilst there is no doubt that Onomah has the talent to cut it in the Premier League, our landlord believes a move down the road to West Ham will bring the best out of a brilliant young player and could be the best solution for the player and both clubs involved.
Kyle Walker-Peters
With Mauricio Pochettino having both Kyle Walker and Kieran Trippier to play on the right hand side of defence, should the young Kyle Walker-Peters look to leave White Hart Lane?
Our landlord believes so and the talented Englishman could well be the answer to Slaven Bilic’s right back problem, which has seen Sam Byram’s unconvincing performances result in players such as Cheikhou Kouyaté and Michail Antonio acting as utility right backs in the short term.
Walker-Peters may be able to fill the void at right back for years to come and become a fans favourite at the London Stadium.
