This sensational run of form displayed by Celtic this season has conveniently coincided with a decimation of proceedings across in the blue half of Glasgow.

With a treble on the horizon for the Hoops, there could well more celebrations taking place in this Transfer Tavern come the end of the season and our landlord is preparing the bar for the rowdy Celtic fans.

Although it seems all rosey at Paradise for the Celtic squad, there are definitely some names being thrown around that maybe haven’t done enough to guarantee their place in the Brendan Rodgers Revolution for next season.

Our Landlord has duly noted these murmurs in the Transfer Tavern and has outlined THREE players that need to prove their worth between now and the end of the season.

Jozo Simunovic

A brave call from our landlord but the recent form of Dedryck Boyata has meant that the Croatian may have to prove himself again to Brendan Rodgers, in order to show that he is the outright first choice partner to Erik Sviatchenko at the back for Celtic.

Following a collapse of a summer move to Torino, Rodgers has said that Simunovic is key to his plans for the Glaswegian club, however he will be looking for a reaction from Simunovic which enhances his faith in the player.

Emilio Izaguirre

There is no doubt that Izaguirre deputised very strongly when first choice left back, Kieran Tierney, was missing with injury however our landlord believes that with the hype around Tierney – the Honduran will have to take any chance he gets to prove his worth to Brendan Rodgers for the rest of the season.

Though a loyal servant to Celtic, the feeling around Parkhead is that Tierney will become a Celtic legend and if that means discarding Izaguirre than so be it.

It is up to the man from Honduras to prove everyone wrong and to show he is worth his place in the Celtic squad.

Gary Mackay-Steven

Though sidelined with injury and linked with a loan move to Dundee in January, a move away from Celtic Park never materialised for Mackay-Steven as he looks to finish the season proving his worth to boss, Brendan Rodgers.

Our landlord believes it will tough for Mackay-Steven to dislodge any of the attacking talent possessed by Celtic, and feels it will be an uphill struggle for him to prove himself which may well result to a move away from Paradise in the summer.
