It has baffled a number of our punters here at the Transfer Tavern, what has recently unfolded at Ibrox – with the whole Mark Warburton and David Weir situation that has seen them both depart from the club.

The former Brentford manager brought something different to the club, introduced some brilliant players to the squad from the lower leagues of England and made them contenders for the top flight title, even against the dominant Celtic and formidable Aberdeen, after gaining promotion from the Scottish Championship.

What’s done is done but whether Warburton actually resigned or not will always puzzle the landlord here at the Tavern. Despite all that, maybe it would be wise for some players to follow him out of the door after disappointing campaigns thus far with the Scottish giants.

However, unlike Warburton, these THREE Rangers players still have the chance to prove their worth to the club between now and the end of the season, provided they can turn their form around.

WES FODERINGHAM

This may be one that our brothers north of the border disagree with, especially those in the blue half of Glasgow.

However, the former Fulham and Swindon ‘keeper has been less than convincing at times in the top tier this season, and the arrival of former Newcastle glovesman Jak Alnwick could spell the end of his Gers career.

He really needs to prove to the club and the next manager that he is worthy of the number one spot!

MARTYN WAGHORN

An absolute hero in the lower Scottish leagues but he’s failed to turn the power on this campaign and has truly struggled to make his mark in the top flight.

The former Leicester and Sunderland man really does need to show that he still has goals in him and that he can be important to the team, otherwise he may have to say goodbye to Ibrox and Rangers.

PHILLIPE SENDEROS

This spot could have gone to him or Niko Kranjcar, because both have been equally disappointing since arriving in the summer.

However, Kranjcar did make some difference at the start of the season, whereas Senderos has been poor throughout his time at the club – even being sent off during the derby hammering by Celtic.
