With Celtic dominating the Scottish top flight this season, many fans in the Transfer Tavern have been discussing what the end of January may bring for the Hoops.
After a disappointing Champions League campaign, there are a few heads on the chopping block at Parkhead and our Landlord believes Brendan Rodgers would do well to get rid of two men before the end of the transfer window.
Furthermore, it is vital for Rodgers’ long term vision for the club to go forward with the right characters in place and with the league all but tied up – it is vital that he gets a good feel for the players that have what it takes to wear the Celtic shirt, especially in European competition.
Our landlord has reiterated that Rodgers’ vision may take a few transfer windows to implement but this is the perfect time for him to really mould his squad and make it his own.
So, with that said – here are two players who must be axed come Tuesday according to our landlord…
Efe Ambrose

The Nigerian defender has reportedly been offered a two year deal by Bastia , and there is no reason as to why he shouldn’t take it since he has fallen so far down the pecking order at Parkhead.
With the move for Bastia a possibility it could well be beneficial for him to make a move before his base value drops further from his lack of opportunity under Rodgers.
Ambrose is spoken highly off by Celtic fans in the Transfer Tavern but there is just no future for him at the Hoops and our landlord expects him to leave before Tuesday.
Gary Mackay-Steven

With Scott Sinclair, James Forrest and Patrick Roberts all ahead of him in the pecking order for the wide positions at Celtic, Mackay-Steven must at least force a loan move out of Parkhead in order to prove himself to Brendan Rodgers.
The 26-year-old was injured in pre-season and has spent the first half of the season recovering to full fitness but this has not deferred interest from Dundee United, although Mackay-Steven may not be keen to drop down a league.
Though he has had a tough season, a move out of Parkhead may well be the best option for Mackay-Steven.
