West Ham may not know which division they will be competing in next season but that hasn’t prevented them from planning for the summer.
According to the Sun, the Hammers are interested in Serhou Guirassy, but could face competition for his signature from Premier League rivals Brighton and Tottenham. It is believed that the East London outfit have been watching the striker for months now and held meetings with his club Amiens in London last week.
However, the move could be dependent on West Ham maintaining their Premier League status, as it may be unlikely that the club would be willing to depart with a reported £20m if they were relegated. In addition, the idea of joining a Championship outfit may deter Guirassy, particularly as there are other parties interested in the 23-year-old, who has scored eight goals in 22 Ligue 1 games this term.

Some Hammers fans are unconvinced by the target and doubt that he will join anyway given the position of the club, with a few disillusioned with the board’s practices when it comes to transfer dealings.
