talkSPORT have interesting claims for punters in the Football Transfer Tavern this evening.
They suggest that Arsenal will have to fend off interest from Inter Milan for Benfica’s star forward Rodrigo.
It had been reported in the tavern that the Gunners were keeping tabs on the 22-year-old during the recent transfer window with Wenger understood to be a fan of the Brazilian-born forward.
Rodrigo, who has netted 10 goals in all competitions this term, will be known to English supporters already given his season-long loan at then-Premier League side Bolton Wanderers.
The youngster played 17 times for the Trotters, but only scored once in an unremarkable spell.
However since then, the product of the Real Madrid youth ranks has developed into a fine striking talent and that could see him returning to the Premier League.
It is understood that Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata is also on Wenger’s radar, but Rodrigo could prove easier to land than the Spanish Under-21 international who is highly regarded at the Bernabeu.
Inter Milan are now thought to be also watching the intelligent and versatile striker, with the San Siro club ready to spend big in order to recovered from a troubled season in the Serie A.
