When Internazionale looked at who they would face in the Champions League group stage, many will have seen Slavia Prague at home as the game they simply had to win.
However, they found themselves 1-0 down after a 63rd minute goal from Peter Olayinka, as per WhoScored, which meant that Nicolo Barella’s last-ditch strike was only enough to earn the side a 1-1 draw:

While one point is better than none, this is still far from enough to please many of the club’s supporters, especially with their other opponents being Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund.
There are some supporters who are already giving up on the thought of making it to the Champions League knockout rounds following the draw, putting their thoughts on the Europa League.
So while the players celebrated the goal enthusiastically, as shown in the highlights video on the BT Sport YouTube channel, that wasn’t replicated among many of the club’s fanbase.
A selection of Twitter reaction to the result, including posts from frustrated Inter fans, can be seen below:
At least barella is on the scoresheet aswell now … but what a bad game we had tonight / that really hurt ! We need 8 points now from the games against Barcelona and Dortmund …

Defense looked lost, midfield looked lost and offense was non existent until last 5 minutes. Terrible start, tying a 3rd tier club at home, atrocious

We going to Europa boys.

Too bad! This is a bad result for us. I hope it doesn’t become a result we will rue in the end. Conte MUST find way of making this team work. He must not live under illusion that we won’t judge the team base on results. He was hired for that and results are what we demand. Sloppy
