Some Sheffield United fans took to Twitter to praise their side and get excited about the new season following a 5-0 win against Chesterfield in pre-season (Sheffield United).
The Blades’ top scorer last season, Billy Sharp, who scored 23 goals in 40 appearances in the Championship during their promotion campaign, showed similar form in this warm-up fixture as he netted a hat-trick.
And two of Chris Wilder’s new signings also got on the score sheet in Callum Robinson and Luke Freeman.
Freeman was the first player to break Sheffield United’s transfer record this summer when he joined the Yorkshire side at the beginning of July.
Robinson then joined for even more money after he moved to the Premier League side from Preston.
The transfer dealings which Wilder has done alongside the performance against Chesterfield have left some Blades supporters raring to go for the new season – their first top-flight campaign since they were relegated back in 2007.
