Sheffield United: Fans love clip of Chris Basham who averages 2.2 interceptions

Lots of Sheffield United fans were loving a throwback clip of Chris Basham where he showed some impressive skills to beat the defender and cross into Billy Sharp who fired home.

The footage was posted on the club’s official Twitter page which prompted lots of supporters to voice their love.

Basham averages 2.2 interceptions in the Premier League this season, more than any of his teammates, as per Whoscored. The Englishman also averages 2.2 tackles, 4.5 clearances and 0.3 blocks, highlighting his defensive qualities with stats ranked highly amongst the team, as per the website.

He has also shown his attacking prowess as he did in the clip, averaging 1.8 through balls, o.9 dribbles and 0.3 key passes per top-flight match, according to Whoscored. He plays as a central defender in a back three but Chris Wilder’s system means that he can overlap and find himself high up the pitch.
