West Brom have reached an agreement with Sheffield United to sign forward Callum Robinson on loan ahead of the transfer deadline, that is according to a report from Football Insider.
The Republic of Ireland international only joined the Blades in the summer from Preston North End, but he has struggled to make an impact in the Premier League. Indeed, he has managed to score just one league goal for the South Yorkshire outfit which came way back in August as Chris Wilder’s side drew 2-2 away at Chelsea (Transfermarkt). And after starting seven of their first eight Premier League matches, he has lost his place in the 11 recently and has just one start in their last 14 fixtures (Transfermarkt).
The Baggies are currently chasing promotion from the Championship and it seems that Slaven Bilic is keen to sign the 24-year-old in order to strengthen his attacking options for the run-in.
It seems that most Blades fans think that it is a good decision to allow Robinson to leave the club on loan. Indeed, several suggested that he isn’t quite ready for Premier League football with one even saying that he looks “bit out of his depth” in the top flight.
Here is what some had to say about the potential deal on Twitter…
good decision. the lad is a winger. hope it works out for him. have to question both him and freeman’s ambition though if they already want to run back to the championship a couple of months after making the move up and not stay and try to prove a point, thoughts? #twitterblades https://t.co/4nGHWyQkx2

He’s got so much pace but when he moves he looks like he’s carrying bricks.
Wouldn’t be gutted to see him go.— Mr Pie (@oomrpieoo) January 28, 2020
Makes sense as he needs more minutes than we can give him at the moment to get up to speed. West Brom at the right end of the Champo and playing good footy so will give him a chance to force himself into our plans next season. Also safe to assume this means someone new’s incoming

He knows himself that he’s not quite breaking into the team right now. A bit of time away will do him good and he can come back next season better prepared to fight for a place. Also opens up a registration place for Berge 😉

Looked a bit out of his depth in the PL, so may be a good option for both clubs, see how he gets on having more game time in the Championship

Let him get game time maybe he will comeback a better player.
At the moment he is a bit behind our other strikers.⚔️— Dave Flute (@DaveFlute) January 28, 2020
It’s a loan and he needs game time. They are top of the Championship playing at a higher level than most of the Championship so yes good all round.
