Loads of Sheffield United fans have been reflecting on an iconic brace from veteran striker Leon Clarke, after the club tweeted a clip of his goals against Bradford City at Bramall Lane.
As football across the country is currently suspended in light of the coronavirus pandemic, supporters have been trying to get their daily fix of the beautiful game wherever they can. Thankfully, the Blades are right on hand to deliver, sharing snapshot videos of key moments from throughout the South Yorkshire outfit’s history.
United’s official Twitter account shared the footage of the Englishman’s first-half heroics during the League One clash, goals that effectively put the game well beyond the Bantams, as Chris Wilder’s side continued to celebrate winning the title 10 days earlier. Clarke scored his fourth goal in as many games when he lashed home a shot from just outside the box, before doubling his efforts at the end of a well-worked team move (BBC Sport).
Having rejoined the Blades last summer after a brief spell on-loan at Wigan Athletic, the 35-year-old has made 13 appearances in total for Wilder’s squad this season, bagging a goal against AFC Fylde in the FA Cup third round earlier this year (Transfermarkt).
Understandably, plenty of SUFC fans still have lots of fond memories about the “beast” striker, with one praising the “incredible” highlights, and another simply remarking “what a finish.”

More evidence that Leon not being on loan to the Championship/League 1 is criminal. He’s incredible on his day
