Sheffield United: Many fans hail ‘improving’ Osborn after Blades win

Many Sheffield United fans have hailed Ben Osborn for his performance against Championship team Reading in the FA Cup round-of-sixteen last night.

The defender achieved a 7.9 rating according to Sofascore, the highest out of any player on the pitch. He also provided the assist for David McGoldrick to score in just the second minute of the match, demonstrating his attacking intentions early on. Added to that he came out on top with the most tackles (5), the most interceptions (3) and the most key passes (5) in the game.

He replaced Enda Stevens at left wing-back in what was otherwise a familiar back five for the Blades, and with more performances like this he could be in Chris Wilder’s plans to start more regularly in the Premier League. The South Yorkshire club won the match 2-1 in extra-time following Billy Sharp’s winner to book their place in the quarter-finals.
