It is no secret that Rhian Brewster is a transfer target for many Premier League sides, including Sheffield United, and journalist Alan Nixon has provided a transfer update on the Blades’ pursuit of the young forward.
Sky Sports have reported in the past that Liverpool are willing to sell Brewster this summer instead of allowing him to go out on loan. The Blades are joined by several other clubs in showing an interest in the 20-year-old, including Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Newcastle United.
Nixon’s latest update from Twitter is that the Blades have had meetings with Brewster’s entourage and he addedthat Liverpool will still sell if the offer is right. This is because they need cash and space in theiq squad to bid for Ismaila Sarr of Watford.
Sheff U. Had meetings with Brewster team. Liverpool will sell if offer is right. Need cash and space to bid for Sarr at Watford. Game on after Brewster out of squad too. Palace and Villa still active if price is ok. Bidding due to commence. Loans don’t really work at this stage.

It will not be easy for Chris Wilder to sign the player, however, as Palace and Villa are still keeping tabs and will move in if the price meets Liverpool’s valuation. Notably, Nixon concluded that a loan move for the 20-year-old would not “really work at this stage”, pointing to the preference for a permanent Anfield exit.
It is understandable to see why Liverpool want a buyback clause on Brewster as he clearly has an eye for goal. The forward made 22 appearances on loan at Championship side Swansea City last season and scored 11 goals, whilst averaging 2.4 shots on target per game, via WhoScored.
He looks to be a very good prospect for the future as he has won the Under-17 World Cup with England three years ago and picked up the Golden Boot in the tournament with eight goals, per Transfermarkt.
This highlights that it would be a really good move for Sheffield United if they were to acquire the player as he has bags of potential, is already quite prolific at a young age and he can definitely learn a lot from experienced strikers David McGoldrick and Billy Sharp at Bramall Lane.
