Sheffield Wednesday: Fans react as club wish Atdhe Nuhiu a happy birthday

It looked like Atdhe Nuhiu was on his way out when fellow Sheffield Wednesday player Joey Pelupessy uploaded an Instagram post which looked to be saying goodbye to the striker.

However with no official confirmation from the club on whether Nuhiu has left or not, his future is still unknown and the latest post on Twitter by Sheffield Wednesday has got many of the fanbase discussing the striker with some suggesting he should be given a new contract.

The club wished Nuhiu a happy birthday as he turned 31 on Wednesday. The Kosovo forward has featured 276 times for the Owls in all competitions and scored 50 goals whilst registering 27 assists, per Transfermarkt. This highlights that he has been good a servant for the club, and it seems that many of the Hillsborough faithful would like for him to stay.

Nuhiu currently is out of contract, so could end up anywhere on a free transfer, but with the forward scoring six goals for the club in the Championship last season, it is not surprising to see that some of the Owls fan base want to keep him.
