Sheffield Wednesday: Fans react to Dom Howson update on Keke Simmonds

Sheffield Wednesday have been doing some early business as they have signed defender Chey Dunkley and Manchester City academy player Fisayo Dele-Bashiru.

It doesn’t seem like the club will stop there and journalist Dom Howson has been discussing whether another City academy star could be joining Dele-Bashiru at Hillsborough.

There has been recent rumours suggesting forward Keke Simmonds is the transfer target from City that manager Garry Monk would like to acquire.

Simmonds has five caps for the England U18 side, scoring one goal, per Transfermarkt, and he has a very good record for the U18 side at Manchester City as the 19 year-old has scored 22 goals in 38 appearances. This has seen him move up to the U23’s.

However the update Howson has provided on the possible transfer, which he has posted on Twitter, does not seem to be positive as he believes the Owls are pursuing other attacking targets due to the fact that the club are not happy with Simmonds’ wage demands.

Here is what fans said following the news, with many suggesting that they should continue to try and sign him as they need more than one new attacker. Indeed as it stands, Jordan Rhodes is the only striker at Hillsborough…

Owls fans, what are your thoughts on this possible signing? Let us know down below!
