Sheffield Wednesday: Fans react to general consensus on Garry Monk and his future

Sheffield Wednesday's manager Garry Monk

The start of the Championship season has been a struggle for Sheffield Wednesday due to the 12 point deduction they were given to begin the campaign.

They now sit on minus four points, and performances like the loss to Wycombe Wanderers make the mood around the club quite a negative one.

It looks very bleak for manager Garry Monk currently, and the results of a survey have shown that he does not have the support of many of the Owls fan base.

Senior football writer for Yorkshire Live, Ricky Charlesworth, tweeted out: ‘Almost 2,000 #SWFC fans responded to our Garry Monk survey – and it makes pretty grim reading… Just 7 per cent of respondees believe GM deserves more time.’

It is very worrying that a lot of fans don’t have faith in the manager and he is probably quite lucky that fans are not allowed in stadiums at the moment as it could have created quite a toxic atmosphere.

Here is what Wednesday fans have said about Monk upon hearing about the survey:

But not surprising. Fans always think they know better than the manager.

The pandemic has saved his job. If fans were allowed in I’m not sure he’d have survived the ‘MUST WIN’ v Boro last season. Attrocious.

Well he has lost 45% of games while he’s been in charge absolutely awful record even worse then jos who lost 40% chansiri really has a lot to answer for
