The 2020/21 Championship season will be a big one for Sheffield Wednesday as they currently have to battle against a 12 point deduction that they have been given by the EFL.
This means they will need to start brightly and get some wins early on in the season, and to do that they need to have a forward banging in the goals.
As it stands, the Owls top three goal scorers from last season have all left the club, and Jordan Rhodes, who scored three in the Championship last campaign, is now the only forward still at the club. His teammate Kadeem Harris has been talking about the ex-Blackburn striker and he has backed him to step up for the Owls as he said, via Alex Miller: “He’s an experienced pro, he’s prolific and he’s one of the best strikers the Championship has seen.”

A lot of the fan base have been reacting to these comments with most suggesting they believe Rhodes is finished, which is understandable as he only scored three goals last season and has netted just 13 in 74 appearances since a big money move. But he definitely has an eye for goal if on form as he has scored 208 goals in his 483 career appearances, per Transfermarkt.
With no strikers signed yet, Rhodes will definitely be under a lot of pressure to succeed in the 2020/21 Championship season.
Here is what fans said following the comments, with one labelling him the “biggest flop in SWFC history”:
“He’s an experienced pro, he's prolific and he's one of the best strikers the Championship has seen..”
Kadeem Harris has backed Jordan Rhodes, under the tutelage of James Beattie, to play a big part for Sheffield Wednesday this season.#SWFC https://t.co/l4USEMHP1g

Under various managers (5 inc bully) & umpteen different partners for JR & systems tried, Ive no confidence that JB will be JR solution. I’ve sadly given up hope on JR. ☹️ But I’d like to be wrong.👍

Problem we’ve had is that whenever he was good it was in a team playing early crosses into the box and another striker looking to create space. We never did this in the entire time he’s been here.

“Has” being the operative word here.

Like most other strikers till they get that badge on their chest. Then they melt or their knees go, we have been truly cursed. Hopefully Beattie may be able to squeeze one last tune out of him.

Really hope it comes good 🤞🏻

I wish he would hurry up then and show he is one of the best strikers in the Championship because we have been waiting 3.1/2 years.

He’s finished

Wish I shared his optimism, but I don’t. Biggest flop in #swfc history
