The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are intrigued by the latest development in the Alexis Sanchez transfer saga.

After months of speculation linking Alexis Sanchez with a move to Manchester City, it appears that Guardiola has officially abandoned his pursuit and in turn paved the way for rival Premier League clubs to make their move. It seems certain that a conclusion to the saga will be reached this month, and the resident Blues in the tavern are desperately hoping that he will favour a move to Stamford Bridge over Old Trafford.

According to reports in The Daily Telegraph, Chelsea have now entered the race for Sanchez and will rival Manchester United for his signature in the coming days.

However, the report claims that United have the edge in negotiations at this stage because they have offered Henrikh Mkhitaryan in part-exchange.

The Chelsea supporters have turned out in their numbers on Twitter to call for Abramovich to make a statement of intent this month by bringing Sanchez to West London.

Plenty of the supporters believe that the signing of Sanchez will be necessary to support Eden Hazard for the remainder of the campaign and he has been identified as a potential replacement for their Belgian ace in the summer.
