Our Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern are willing Jurgen Klopp to turn them into title contenders next season. Indeed, some of the Reds’ play has been fantastic and you feel that just a few tweaks here and there could push them all the way.
The German, this season, has transformed Liverpool into one of the most dangerous and exciting teams to watch in Europe. However suspect the defence had been in the first half of the season, the attack has more than made up for it and then some.
Many of the regulars in the bar feel that a few key signings could really transform this current Liverpool side into world beaters. Still, alongside the incomings have to be outgoings, and Klopp has a few players now that he needs to get rid of in order for this team to progress further.
He has to become ruthless in the transfer market to start bringing trophies into the club under his tenure, that much is certain.
The majority of the bar staff are all in agreeance of who should go for good, and with that in mind, the landlord is taking a look at the TWO players on the tip of everyone’s tongue…
Simon Mignolet

Simon Mignolet has been in a No.1 tussle with Loris Karius all season long, as Klopp doesn’t seem to be able to make up his mind on a permanent fixture between the sticks. Although in recent times, it seems Karius is getting the nod ahead of his team-mate, much to his anger.
If Liverpool are to progress forward in the Premier League, they have to have a settled stopper and a level above what they currently have – which Mignolet is not.
Joel Matip

Similar to the goalkeeping situation at the moment, Joel Matip is in a rut. Since the arrival of Virgil Van Dijk, Matip and Dejan Lovren have been in a fight to gain the starting spot alongside the big Dutchman. With Lovren looking the better option of the two at present, it may be time for Matip to part ways with the Reds in the summer.
Not many players are going to settle for a regular place on the bench, and the same has to be said about Matip.
