While the Newcastle United fans in the Transfer Tavern have endured a frustrating window thus far.
Amid reports that Rafa Benitez is unhappy on Tyneside, the Toon Army have failed to significantly strengthen over the course of the summer and, once again, Mike Ashley isn’t the most popular man amongst our resident Geordies.
Still, to be fair, it’s a very difficult market.
Indeed, Andre Gray – a man who has been touted as a Newcastle target – goes some way into proving that.
The Burnley forward is reportedly closing in on an £18.5m move to Watford and, while losing out to the Hornets may be relatively disappointing, shows just how expensive players are these days.
Undoubtedly a talented forward, Gray has barely proved the most prolific at Turf Moor in the top tier and is in the final year of his contract.
