Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have been responding to transfer rumours surrounding their young, Spanish right-back, Hector Bellerin. A story in the Daily Mail has detailed how Barcelona and Manchester City could both come calling for the defender in the summer with the £50 million price tag not deterring the European giants.
Bellerin has failed to kick on this season, like a number of Arsenal players, as the club has slumped to new lows during the current campaign. Arsene Wenger’s side sits 33 points away from 1st placed Manchester City and 12 points off of the top 4. Although a saving grace for Wenger could be the Europa League, as winning Europe’s second-tier tournament means guaranteed entry to the Champions League the following year.
Hector Bellerin, who turns 23 next week, has missed Arsenal’s last two games against Watford and AC Milan, games in which the Gunners kept back-to-back clean sheets for the first time since before Christmas. Given the apparent tightening up of Arsenal’s backline in the last two fixtures, Wenger will be asking questions over whether Bellerin warrants a place back in his starting line-up. However, with the apparent interest of City and Barca, and the fast-approaching World Cup in summer, Bellerin will want to get back and playing as soon as possible.
Taking all of that into account, here’s our resident Gunners’ verdict on Bellerin:
I'd sell Bellerin for £50m

Yes, but it seems we can't buy unless we sell. I for one am not buying this Bellerin stories at all

What's even worse is we don't have a capable replacement either within or elsewhere. Bellerin should never be mentioned in an area where we need to sell to make funds available elsewhere.

With different management xhaka is the player I could keep bellerin can easily be replaced he’s soft sell him in the summer wouldn’t even notice he’s gone

That's not the point. If we sell Bellerin for 50, Monaco will ask 40 even for Sidibe. Massive downgrade without any benefits financially.
So unless someone equally good is available, its not worth it. Keep him, show some ambition.— 🇵🇸 (@theflawedfoot) March 13, 2018
