Arsenal supporters in the Transfer Tavern are expecting their transfer activity to increase as pre-season preparations begin.
Preparations have started for most teams in England’s top flight, and Arsenal is no exception. The Gunners are in Shanghai where they beat Bayern Munich on penalties as they continue their pre-season tour, that will include two games against bitter rivals, Chelsea.
FA Cup aside, last season was a bitter disappointment for the north London side, and they will be eager to eradicate the inconsistencies that thwarted their efforts last season. One method of doing so is altering the squad.
So far Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette are the club’s only summer arrivals, and the Gunners are primed to continue their spending.
Nonetheless, there are also numerous reports linking players with moves away from the FA Cup winners this summer window.

Thomas Lemar – Sign
The 21-year-old played a crucial role in AS Monaco’s first title success in 17 years, and the Frenchman is reportedly keen on a move to the FA Cup winners. At the age of just 21, Lemar has already amassed 125 appearances for both Caen and Monaco, in addition to earning five international caps with France.
Last season was considered a breakthrough season for the winger, scoring a reputable total of 14 goals and providing 14 assists as Monaco fought their way to the semi-finals of the Champions League. Lemar is a great danger from dead-ball situations, and his passing and dribbling abilities are equally splendid. He provides creativity in abundance from wide positions.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – Sell
Despite amassing 194 appearances for the Gunners since arriving in North London in the summer of 2011, the 23-year-old’s Arsenal future is in considerable doubt as Chamberlain enters the last year of his contract. The Englishman was used as a rotational option last season, almost half of his Premier League appearances were made as a substitute and Arsenal run the risk of losing the youngster on a free transfer.
With Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City all reportedly interested in the services of Chamberlain, it would be logical for the Gunners to sell Chamberlain now and use the money attained to reinvest in the squad. Unless Arsenal manages to negotiate a new contract for the ‘Ox’, then Chamberlain must leave this Summer.
