Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern have very little to groan about, despite their lack of recruitment this summer, but there is seemingly that positive glamour in the white side of north London. 

Instead of spending absurd amounts of cash in the window, which Spurs potentially don’t have anyway due to the new stadium on the horizon, Mauricio Pochettino has instead penned his most prized possessions to long-term deals at the club.

This is possibly the best thing Spurs could have done in preparation for the summer, as if other teams wanted their key assets then they’d have to stump up the tremendous fee, but on the other hand it means interest cools down on the club’s credible resources.

In the Tavern landlord’s view, however, Tottenham still have some business to conduct in the coming weeks, especially as there is one or two first-team members who need to be shifted along in order for the side to improve and go further in Europe during the forthcoming campaign.

Moussa Sissoko (Axe)

Moussa Sissoko endured a horrendous first twelve months at White Hart Lane having made the summer transfer deadline day move to the capital from Newcastle United, doing very little to justify his £30 million price tag.

The Frenchman, despite remaining a keen international for his country, made so little campaign last term that Pochettino restricted his chances mostly from the bench; featuring in 25 top-flight outings.

Tottenham Hotspur will be aiming to make one marquee addition to their ranks this summer, or that’s what they’re hoping in the Tavern, and may need the extra funds from Sissoko’s sale in order to do so – axing the inefficient midfielder would be great business by Spurs.

Demarai Gray (Sign)

One of the most prospective talents in English football, it is significantly clear as to why a number of clubs in the Premier League are chasing the signature of Leicester City starlet Demarai Gray.

At 21 years of age, it would be a magnificent investment for Tottenham Hotspur for future years and our bar man would be over the moon for Gray to be his club’s major acquisition in this summer window.

With an abundance of clubs circling for his services, Spurs have to make a swoop imminently otherwise his price will continue to rise and the saga won’t end pretty, we’re afraid to say.
