The Arsenal fans here in the Transfer Tavern have been bitterly disappointed with their team this season, with many of the belief that long-serving boss Arsene Wenger should be sacked at the end of the season – if not before!

The Gunners have gone on their usual mid-season collapse and in the year of 2017 they have won just three games, with two of those wins coming against non league sides Sutton United and Lincoln City.

Whoever is in charge at the Emirates Stadium in time for the summer it looks to be a massive time in the transfer market for the club, with the main intention likely to be returning to the Champions League with the Gunners set to miss out next season.

Our landlord has been chatting to several Arsenal supporters of late and it appears that they are looking for some steel in the heart of midfield and this got him thinking of two potential signings who would be ideal for the club.

Nemanja Matic

The Chelsea man could be a realistic target for the Gunners during the summer, given that they are likely to contest in the Champions League and Chelsea may look to offload the Serbian.

One Gunners fan is having a puff on a e-cigarette here in the Tavern and he thinks that Matic would be a superb signing for the Gunners, stating that his winning mentality could be a massive attribute.

Radja Nainggolan

The Belgian midfielder nearly secured a move to the Barclays Premier League last summer and his form for Roma this term could secure a move to these shores this year.

The 28-year-old would be a great addition to the Arsenal side and one Gunners supporter thinks that the club should do all they can to secure a player of his quality during the next transfer window.
