West Ham United are in serious danger of a relegation fight if they don’t start picking up points and moving up the Premier League table soon – and the Hammers supporting punters here in the Transfer Tavern are worried!
The Hammers are currently in 17th place, just a point above the relegation zone after their 1-1 draw against Stoke City a fortnight ago.
Slaven Bilic can at least take solace in the fact that his defence has improved in recent times, with the five goals conceded in the last five games making for better reading than the 16 goals let in from their first six.
The result unfortunately seems to be a lack of goals, with only four scored in their last five.
With the exception of the Everton game all of West Ham’s previous five games have been close-fought affairs and if they had a spark off the bench against Middlesbrough, and Stoke City they may well sit in a better position than the one they currently find themselves in.

ASHLEY FLETCHER
Considering how much their strikers have struggled, it’s a wonder Bilic hasn’t turned to exciting youngster Ashley Fletcher.
The 21-year-old has been making waves with his goalscoring exploits in the development squad, and would have the physical presence to cause problems at the end of a game.
With Andre Ayew having a poor game on his return of Michail Antonio struggling to get into attacking positions in his wing-back role, Fletcher has the potential to become a prime source for West Ham goals.
SOFIANE FEGHOULI
It is surprising Sofiane Feghouli hasn’t been given more minutes in a West Ham shirt considering how good he has looked in his substitute appearances.
The Algerian is great on the ball and would cause Danny Rose no end of problems towards the end of a game.
Bilic clearly knows he has the ability to create chances having brought him on while he tried to find a winner against Stoke City.
The Croatian waited until the 89th minute to do this however, and Feghouli will be hoping to get more game-time when they visit Spurs at the weekend.
