The Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern weren’t overly convinced with their side at Wembley last night against Barnsley.
While they were glad to progress into the fourth round through a Dele Alli goal, it was barely a vintage performance from Mauricio Pochettino’s men against the Championship outfit.
Still, at least there was plenty to talk about. Pochettino handed summer signing, Juan Foyth, his debut in Spurs colours against the Tykes, with the Argentine having quite the impact.
Alongside the experienced Jan Vertonghen, the summer signing certainly impressed at times in a make-shift backline, aside from a few scary moments here and there.
The 19-year-old has been touted for big things by our north London locals since his arrival and they look forward to seeing him grow into the kind of player currently marshaling their rearguard, either Vertonghen or Toby Alderweireld.
