Sort it ASAP: The 2 main issues West Ham need to sort before the season kicks off

The West Ham fans in the Transfer Tavern today are demanding a better season from their side. Surely it can’t get much worse?

After a fantastic 2015/16 season, West Ham looked like they were going to grow from strength to strength in the Premier League and potentially battle for a European spot last season.

Obviously, that did not happen.

They fell down the table and following the departure of Dimitri Payet, their first season at their new stadium, wasn’t one to remember for the fans.

If West Ham continue to fall down the ladder and potentially toy with relegation, they could be in serious trouble with their new stadium.

They’ve already forked out a lot of money and there is still more to come, they need to remain a Premier League club to stay financially stable.

With that being said, here are the two main issues West Ham need to sort out, before the season kicks off.

They need more transfers

Whilst Pablo Zabaleta is a good signing for The Hammers. If this window closes with that being the only piece of business they have done, they will have missed a big opportunity to improve their squad.

In recent weeks, links with former Man United striker, Javier Hernandez have appeared however West Ham don’t want to pay his requested wages.

Bilic can’t keep pushing every potential deal away, yes there is plenty of time left but he really should get a move on.

Low squad morale

Following on from their disappointing campaign last season, the West Ham squad’s morale will be low.

Slaven Bilic needs to do something to get their spirits back up in time for the new season.

If his squad’s heads aren’t in the right place, they could struggle early in the season and that could mean they’re flirting with the idea of relegation, and that would be a disaster.
