Though it was another win to enjoy for the Tottenham Hotspur fans here in the Transfer Tavern last night, Mauricio Pochettino’s men barely cut the most convincing figures against Brighton.
Indeed, the 2-0 win over Brighton was barely a classic and many of the Lillywhites propping up our bar are once again lamenting the atmosphere at Wembley. Spurs’ temporary digs, the home of national football doesn’t really seem to serve the team well on run of the mill Premier League nights, such is the atmosphere at the ground.
For many of our north London locals, the move back to White Hart Lane – a new one at that – simply cannot come quick enough. Though it seems strange to speak so negatively after a win, games against midtable domestic sides at Wembley seem to be endured rather than enjoyed right now.
So, with that in mind, here’s a closer look at what Tottenham fans on Twitter made of Wembley’s atmosphere last night.

We always struggle to pick smaller sides apart at Wembley. Crucial that we got that goal before half-time. Hopefully Brighton come out a bit more in the second half now and we get to finish them off on the break. Similar second half to Saturday, please. #COYS
