Many Southampton fans have been reacting to comments from club CEO Martin Semmens in regards to the Saints' transfer possibilities in comparison to their rivals in the Premier League.

Last season, they finished 15th in the Premier League despite a positive start, so there is plenty of improvement to be made from Ralph Hasenhuttl's team. So far this summer, they have landed just one new signing in Romain Perraud, and Hasenhuttl will surely be hoping there are more to come.

Semmens has been discussing Southampton and their rivals in the transfer market, and he has said that clubs around them in terms of league position do not have more money than them (Hampshire Live) - even Crystal Palace, who have already spent close to £30m so far this summer (Transfermarkt).

His comments were shared on Twitter by @TheSaintCentre, and it seemed that many Saints fans didn't agree - they seem eager to see more transfers at St Mary's. These supporters took to the social media platform to share their thoughts on Semmens' remarks.

Let's see what these fans had to say about the comments from Semmens

"Well now I feel much better knowing Burnley aren’t spending more money than us. Also Palace have gone out and got Olise, Guehi and are on the brink of getting Andersen.  We are a bottom tier club financially and don’t help ourselves with poor business. #SaintsFC"
