Southampton fans were upset after Ralph Hasenhuttl admitted it is unlikely Sam McQueen will play football ever again.

There was a time when McQueen looked as though he had a big future in the game. He made his debut in the F.A Cup during the 2013/14 season as a teenager and went on to make 29 appearances in all competitions for the Saints (Transfermarkt). He also embarked on loan spells at Middlesbrough and Southend United as he looked to gain experience.

However, when at the Riverside Stadium during the 2018/19 term, he suffered a ruptured cruciate ligament, and he has not kicked a football since. Now, prior to the Saints' clash against Leicester City, Hasenhuttl said it would be a "miracle" if McQueen played ever again.

The news was shared on Twitter by Jacob Tanswell, and it attracted plenty of interest from the Southampton supporters. They took to the social media platform to share their thoughts on this very sad update.
